In case the transcription option isn't visible in settings, make sure Visual Voicemail is enabled on the Android phone. Users can also tap on the ' Share' button to share the transcribed version with a contact. Select ' Voicemail' and turn on ' Voicemail transcription'. To turn on transcription, open the Phone app, tap on ' More' (three-dot button), and then tap ' Settings'. Transcription is only available in English and Spanish, and requires an Android phone to be running Android 8.0 or higher. These include Tracfone, Verizon's Visible, and T-Mobile (only for Pixel devices). On select carriers and devices, users can also view a transcription of their voicemail. Users can now open the Phone app and tap on the ' Voicemail' icon to view a list of the voicemails they've received. Tap on ' Voicemail', and turn on ' Visual Voicemail'. To turn on Visual Voicemail, open the Phone app, tap on ' More' (three dots), then ' Settings'. Visual Voicemail is available only on some carriers, which include AT&T, Google Fi, and T-Mobile, among others. By enabling a feature called Visual Voicemail, Android users can view all their voicemails as a list in Google's Phone app. Once voicemail is up and running normally, there are some tips and tricks which can make it easier for Android users to view and manage their voice messages. Finally, when all else fails, contact the Android phone's cellular provider and find out if they can fix the issue on their end or replace the SIM card if it is defective. Users can also reach out through Google Help to ask experienced Android users for assistance. If none of these work, there are some last-ditch effort fixes users can go through, like shutting down and restarting the Android phone, switching Bluetooth connectivity off and on again, or taking out and reinserting the SIM card. Expand the menu under the active SIM ( if dual SIM is being used), hit ' Call barring,' and make sure all options are deactivated. In the Phone app's ' Settings' menu, tap ' Calling accounts' and choose the active mobile provider. To disable this, turn off ' Unknown' in the ' Blocked numbers' menu.Īnother thing to ensure is that the phone doesn't have call barring enabled. This blocks any calls from private or unidentified numbers (phone numbers not saved in contacts will still be able to get through). Hit ' Settings' then select ' Blocked numbers.' Tap the X next to the number to unblock, then hit ' Unblock.' While here, it's also worth checking if the setting to block unknown numbers is enabled. I know if I call VZW they will just tell me to factory reset and I really don't want to have to go through all that stuff just so one person can call me again and I still would like to know why this is happening.Calls from blocked phone numbers may go straight to voicemail, so check if any important contacts got accidentally added to the block list by firing up the Phone app and tapping ' More' (three-dot icon). I'm hoping someone knows something that I don't know here. I am on CM7.0.3 but I've been on CM7 since the first stable release with no issues. I find it odd that it would only effect her though if it was an app. This has been happening for at least 30 days now so I can't really say if it's a newly installed app or not. I've restarted the phone, disconnected the battery, checked contacts to make sure I don't have her checked off as "send to voicemail". I took her phone, dialed my phone and couldn't get through but then would have someone else in the room dial me and it worked fine. It has nothing to do with signal strength either because we've tested in my house several times. I can receive text messages from her just fine and I can call her just fine but she can't get through to me unless she dials *67, or whatever you dial to block your number. I also have a Google Voice number the routes directly to my cell phone and she's tried calling that and the same exact thing happens. Usually this is only available if both parties are on the same carrier, but when available it is very easy. Every time she calls my phone takes her straight to VM, no ringing on my end, no ringing on her end. Can I call someone and go directly to voicemail Some wireless service providers give their subscribers the option to send voice messages directly without calling the other party’s line. I have a friend that can't call me for some reason.
